Check changes against compliance rules

Every change your team ships is checked overnight against your own compliance rules, with gaps flagged before customers find them.

Example output

Nightly check, 3 changes merged since the last check, against the data protection rules in your compliance doc. 2 gaps, 5 rules without a gap.

  • Gap: the new export includes email addresses. Rule 4.2 says personal data needs an explicit consent flag. Source: pull request "Add contact export", rules doc section 4.2.
  • Gap: the new webhook logs full payloads. Rule 6.1 says logs must not hold customer content. Source: pull request "Webhook retries".
  • No gap found: data stays in the EU region, sessions expire after 30 minutes, access changes are logged.

This is a check against your written rules, not a compliance sign off. Nothing is changed or blocked.

Customize

What it needs to know about you

  1. Where do your compliance rules live?
  2. What should the check look at?
  3. Which repositories or products should be checked?
  4. Which area should the check cover?
  5. Which gaps are worth a message?
  6. What should happen when a change touches something no rule covers?
  7. What should happen when there is a gap?

Guardrails

What it won't do

  1. Never blocks, reverts or changes a release, code or a task without approval.
  2. Never says a change or release is compliant. It reports gaps against your written rules only.
  3. Doesn't invent a rule. Every gap quotes the rule and the change it comes from.
  4. Doesn't use a suggested rule to flag a gap, and labels every suggestion as one.
  5. Never drops a gap silently. Every gap found is listed or counted in one line.
  6. Shows both when the rules document and a task checklist disagree, and doesn't pick one.

Your top priority today is the Brightfold renewal call at 14:00. They asked about seat pricing twice last week and the agenda is still empty.

Your meetings:

  • 10:00 Team standup
  • 11:30 Onboarding with Kettle & Co, first call since they signed
  • 14:00 Brightfold renewal

Waiting on you:

  • Maya at Brightfold: "Can you send the updated quote before our call?"
  • Legal is waiting on your comments on the Orbit DPA (since Thursday)

Want me to draft the Brightfold quote email, put an agenda in the 14:00 invite, or summarize last month's Kettle & Co emails before 11:30?
